There is no soil in the greenhouse. In side the WPK box, there are artificial soil. It provides an environment with less bacterias and less chance to get diseases. The tubes in the box provide nutrition and water for plants. An advantage for the artificial soil system is that the water system can be closed. The excess water can be reused in the plants.
The brow tube in the alley is the heater. It is power by the combine heat power station (CHP) which is built in the greenhouse. It can provide heat, electricity for lighting and CO2 for plants. However, the limited natural gas will constrain the use of CHP. In addition, the need for heat, electricity and CO2 are un even. Plants need CO2 in the day time. Lighting is in the night. Heating is mainly in winter when plants are small.
